THE MASTER OF CONTEMPORARY JEWELERY ARTWORK OF THE BASIC BLESSED HISTORY:
The Cathedral of St. Basil the Blessed (Pokrovsky Cathedral) was built in the 16th century in honor of Moscow’s victory over the Kazan and Astrakhan khanates and is rightly considered a masterpiece of Russian architecture. The cathedral is one of the visiting cards of the capital and is listed in the cultural heritage of UNESCO.
Tsar-satrap Ivan the Terrible was the customer of the construction. After the completion of the work, the Temple so impressed him with its beauty that he ordered to blind the builders who built it, so that it would be impossible to repeat such perfection. Until the end of the XVI century.
The 65-meter cathedral was the tallest building in Moscow. At present, the Temple is a branch of the State Historical Museum, but divine services are allowed in it. The idea of creating a breadboard model of the Temple was born to the head of the team of jewelers Aleksanyan G.V. (Jewelry House “Aristocrat”), when he learned about the legend of the erection of the Temple. He wanted to repeat this masterpiece in stone and prove that the ancient Russian masters have worthy successors.
Modern jewelers from semiprecious stones and gold manually created an exact copy of the Temple reduced a hundred times! Reconstructed even the porches and inner corridors of the Temple, two icons located on the facade of the original. Much time was spent designing the layout: 2 architects worked with historical drawings of the building stored in archives, 4 artists developed sketches of all the facades and each detail separately.
The mock-up of the Temple was made by 8 experienced masters, all details (and their total of 8600 pieces) were cut by hand. On the facade there is a very fine painting on marble, which was carried out with special paints under a magnifying glass. The full cycle of work took 3 years to complete the Temple model in October 2007. The model of the Temple was exhibited at the Manezh exhibition held by the Guild of Jewelers of Russia, at an exhibition in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, in the Expo Center, at the Millionaire Fair luxury exhibition, at the Golden Ring of Russia exhibition and at many other international exhibitions. The temple is listed in the catalog “RUSSIAN GORHOUSE”.
Previous works of the team of masters of the Jewelry House “Aristocrat”: in 2006, at the request of Russian patrons, a copy of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior was made and translated as a relic to the Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church.
